Story did a great job. It's rare to see someone who has so thoroughly taken advantage of the opportunities that life has offered him, with little regard for the obstacles along the way.

Congrats, Stacey. What a great idea, and while we would not judge the book by it, what a really interesting cover! I am betting there is a story behind that.

I've had opportunity to read Dr. Springer's book and found it a fascinating treatment of both Aesop and Luther. Well done, Carl!

My first question is about shared governance - in what capacity were the faculty involved in this decision? While cutting programs is a difficult decision, if the decision is made together, the campus has a better chance to weather this storm.

Second, SUNY is a large system and I wonder what role it is playing in these decisions. Losing a theater program is a very bad thing, but it becomes a tragedy if every SUNY campus decides to cut theater thus preventing NY students from a public-school option to study theater. Likewise for the faculty: a lost tenure-track position at Albany might be found in Brookhaven, thus preserving tenure.

I would like to thank the today's host of Segue for the fascinating interview with Dr. Aminata Cairo. The cultural and historical perspectives into medical care were extremely topical and interesting. The host was well informed and asked the perfect questions to allow Dr. Cairo to deliver her personals and professional insights into medical anthropology. This listener is very grateful to both the talented host and his esteemed guest.
